Terms of Service

1. What you are buying

Exhibit Room is desktop software for preparing and presenting courtroom exhibits. It is sold as a one-time purchase of $149 (US dollars, taxes may apply). There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

2. License grant

When your payment completes we issue you a license key. That key grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to install and use Exhibit Room:

• for as long as you want — the license does not expire;
• on up to 2 computers at the same time. You may deactivate a computer in Settings and activate another in its place;
• for your own work, or the work of the firm or organisation that bought the license, including on client matters.

Included updates for Exhibit Room are covered by the same license, at no extra cost. We are not obliged to produce any particular future version or feature.

3. What the license does not allow

• Sharing, publishing, reselling or sublicensing your license key.
• Using one license across more computers than it allows, or working around the activation limit.
• Renting Exhibit Room out, or offering it as a hosted service to others.
• Reverse engineering, decompiling or modifying the software, except where that cannot lawfully be prohibited.
• Removing or altering the license, copyright or attribution notices.

We keep all rights we do not expressly grant. Exhibit Room is licensed to you, not sold.

4. Free trial

Exhibit Room can be used without a license for 14 days from the first time you open it. The trial has every feature, applies no watermark, and needs no credit card.

When the trial ends, the application asks for a license key. Your trials, exhibits and annotations remain on your computer and are available again as soon as you activate. The trial is offered once per computer; deliberately resetting it to repeat it is not permitted.

5. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars and may exclude sales tax, VAT or similar charges, which are added at checkout where applicable. Your license key is emailed to the address you give Stripe, normally within a few minutes of payment.

If the key does not arrive, check your spam folder and then email support@exhibitroom.app — we will resend it.

6. Refunds

If Exhibit Room is not right for you, email support@exhibitroom.app within 14 days of your purchase and ask for a refund. We will refund the purchase and deactivate the license. No reason is required.

The 14-day trial exists so that you can evaluate the software properly before buying. Refund requests after 14 days are at our discretion.

7. Your documents and your responsibility

Your case documents, annotations and trial data stay on your computer. We do not receive them, store them or back them up. Keeping backups of your own data is your responsibility; the Export Trial feature exists for that purpose.

You are responsible for having the right to use the documents you import, and for handling confidential and privileged material appropriately.

8. No warranty about courts, admissibility or outcomes

Exhibit Room is a tool for organising and displaying documents. It is not legal advice, it does not make any document admissible, and it does not certify anything about your evidence. We make no representation that Exhibit Room, or anything produced with it, satisfies the rules, procedures, formats or technical requirements of any particular court, tribunal, jurisdiction or proceeding.

Redaction in this version is visual only. It covers an area on screen and in presentation mode; it does not remove text or image data from the underlying PDF file. Do not rely on it to produce a file that can safely be disclosed.

Test your complete setup — computer, display, cables, adapters and the exhibits themselves — before you rely on it in a hearing.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Exhibit Room is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that the license service will always be reachable.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted by law, and nothing in these terms limits your non-waivable statutory consumer rights.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or any loss arising from a hearing, filing, deadline or proceeding, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to Exhibit Room or these terms is limited to the amount you actually paid for your license in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Termination

You may stop using Exhibit Room at any time; uninstalling it ends these terms for you. Your local data remains yours.

We may revoke a license that is shared publicly, resold, or used to work around the activation limit, and we may refuse service in cases of fraud or chargeback abuse. Where the problem looks accidental we will contact you first. If we revoke a license that you paid for and did not abuse, we will refund it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for example when the product changes. The effective date at the top of the page will change, and the new terms apply to use of the software from that date. The license you have already bought keeps the rights described in section 2.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Exhibit Room's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you live.
