Does Exhibit Room work offline?
Yes. Preparing exhibits and presenting them never touch the network. You only need an internet connection once, to activate your license.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Your PDFs, annotations and trial data stay in Exhibit Room's data folder on your computer. Nothing about their contents is sent anywhere.
Is there a subscription?
No. Exhibit Room is a $149 one-time purchase with a lifetime license and included updates.
Can I use it in court?
Yes, the software is designed for courtroom exhibit preparation and presentation, but users should test their specific hardware/display setup before a hearing.
Does it work with PDFs?
Yes. PDF is the supported exhibit format in this version.
How many computers can I use?
2. A license activates on up to 2 computers — a desktop and a laptop, for example. If you replace a machine, open Settings → License on the old one and deactivate it to free the slot. If the old computer is gone, email us and we will free it for you.
How does the free trial work?
You get 14 days with every feature, no watermark and no credit card. The trial starts the first time you open the app.
When it ends, Exhibit Room asks for a license key. Your trials, exhibits and annotations stay on your computer and are there again as soon as you activate.
What happens if I lose internet in court?
Nothing. License activation is checked only occasionally, in the background, when you happen to be online. It never runs during a presentation and it never blocks one.
Does redaction remove text from the PDF?
No. This version provides visual redaction: an opaque black rectangle is drawn over the area, so it is covered on screen and in presentation mode.
The underlying text and image data are still in the original PDF file. If you need to hand over a file with the content permanently removed, use a tool that performs permanent PDF redaction. Exhibit Room labels the tool "Visual redaction" everywhere in the app for this reason.
Can I move a trial to another computer?
Yes. Choose Export Trial to write a single
.exhibitroom file containing the trial, its exhibit PDFs and all annotations. Copy
it across however you like, then choose Import Trial on the other computer.
